BLK Virginia Theatre Alliance(BVTA) is a grassroots non profit theatre company.
The Blk Virginia Theatre Alliances mission is to build a vibrant and equitable theatrical community. We achieve this by producing challenging works from underrepresented voices, by providing accessible arts education to the next generation of artist, and by being a leading advocate for justice, diversity, equity and inclusion.
The purpose of the Blk Va Theatre Alliance is to educate, inform, and curate the space for global majority in theatre. We create strong advocates/allies who are fit to enhance by creating opportunities to engage in not only theatre but their communities.It is not only our duty to create diverse spaces but also to ensure those diverse spaces are equitable. We must do that by acknowledging cultural differences. Addressing subconscious biases and disabling microaggressions.
